先週の日曜日、6人のPCVファシリテーターがAFS交換留学生とボランティアのみなさんに向けて英語のオンラインプログラムを行いました。16カ国からの参加者は、被爆者の田中稔子さんのお話やオンラインツアーを通して広島について一緒に学びました。
学生のみなさんは小グループでのディスカッションの際、辛い経験を伝えてくれた稔子さんへの感謝や、核戦争への恐れ、そして広島の人々が都市を再建し、未来に目を向けて際の回復力に対する驚きなど、様々な思いを共有してくださいました。
コロナが早く収束し、海外からまた沢山の人が広島を訪れるのを待っている私たちにとって、日曜日のセッションは、広島のピースリーダーが海外の若者と意見を交換し、つながりを感じることのできる素晴らしい時間でした。

On Sunday, six PCV youth facilitators conducted an English online Hiroshima experience for AFS exchange students and volunteers. Participants from 16 different countries learned together about Hiroshima from atomic bomb survivor Toshiko Tanaka.
In their small group discussions, the students shared their gratitude to Toshiko for sharing her painful story, their fear of nuclear war, and their amazement at the resilience of the people of Hiroshima in rebuilding their city and looking towards the future.
As we in Hiroshima await the end of coronavirus and the return of international visitors to our city, Sunday’s session was an incredible opportunity for Hiroshima youth peace leaders to engage with international young people to exchange ideas and form connections.
