昨年に引き続き、オーストラリアから来日してくださったヤラバレーグラマースクールの皆さん。日本滞在中は姉妹校の学校の文化祭に参加したり、日本文化を体験するクラスに参加したりする中、PCVは平和公園でのツアーを担当しました。
とても元気いっぱいな中高生でツアー中も質問が飛び交い、ピースバディとの対話も弾んで、すごく濃い時間をすごすことができました。
ツアー後には追悼平和記念館、資料館を訪れて、1日の終わりには「私にとっての平和とは？」というテーマでディスカッションが行われ、担当教員の先生から、「ツアーで感じたことをディスカッションの中で話す生徒がとても多かった。生徒の心に残るツアーをありがとう！」という言葉をいただきました。
およそ1時間半のPEACE DIALOGUEのプログラムですが、こうやって生徒の中に残り続ける機会を創ることができるこの仕事をとても誇りに思います。

Following last year, we welcomed the students of Yarra Valley Grammar School from Australia. During their stay in Japan, they participated in the cultural festival of their sister school and joined classes to experience Japanese culture. PCV was in charge of a tour at the Peace Park.
The students, full of energy, asked many questions throughout the tour, and their conversations with the Peace Buddies were lively, allowing us to spend a very enriching time together.
After the tour, they visited the Memorial Hall and Museum, and at the end of the day, there was a discussion on the theme ‘What does peace mean to me?’ The teacher in charge said, ‘Many students talked about what they felt during the tour in the discussion. Thank you for a tour that left a lasting impression on the students!’
Although the PEACE DIALOGUE program lasts about an hour and a half, we are very proud to be able to create an opportunity that stays with the students like this. Thank you for visiting Japan from Australia!
